Fuel surcharges

Each month, TNT measures changes in the price of diesel supplied to TNT, the estimated fuel related costs of TNT's transport suppliers and the jet fuel related charges of TNT's air line haul suppliers (over the relevant three month period) against a weighted benchmark for diesel and jet fuel prices. The surcharge also reflects a weighting of TNT's direct and indirect fuel related costs to total cost which is reviewed from time to time.

TNT’s fuel surcharge is updated monthly.

TNT will advise the following month's fuel surcharge on this website.

The fuel surcharge changes on a monthly basis. The revised fuel surcharge is communicated via the internet as it is a quick and readily accessible means of communicating the new surcharge to customers and employees of customers, to enable them to inform themselves about the shipping costs.

The fuel surcharge is a charge applied by TNT which reflects changes in a range of fuel related cost factors. The fuel surcharge reflects movements in the domestic fuel surcharge and estimated fuel related costs associated with TNT’s international transport suppliers.

These prices can fluctuate enormously over time.

An international consignment has both a domestic and international component.

Accordingly, on a monthly basis, TNT applies an international fuel surcharge based on a weighted average of:

• its Domestic Fuel Surcharge as above; and
• estimated fuel related costs associated with TNT’s international transport suppliers against TNT's relevant cost base which is reviewed from time to time.
