Headquartered at the TNT Express International Road Hub in Arnhem, The Netherlands, the ERN is the most extensive road delivery network in Europe. It enables TNT Express to provide the fastest daily by road door to door customs cleared express delivery transit times throughout Europe with a current on-time departure performance of 99.2%.
When the ERN was first launched in 1978 it served six countries and this number has increased five fold during its 25 year history. In the last 10 years alone, TNT Express has doubled the number of countries served by the ERN which now connects 550 depots in 31 countries through ten major hubs in Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, UK, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Northern Europe. There are also plans to increase the capacity to serve a further two countries by road by the end of 2004. The 1,600 vehicles in the linehaul fleet perform 10,000 Europe-wide trunk movements and travel approximately 6.3 million kilometres every week.

The TNT Express International Road Hub was opened in October 1998 and is within a two hour drive of the TNT Express European Air Express Hub at Liége in Belgium. Both the hubs lie within the Amsterdam-Paris-Frankfurt triangle which is one of the most industrialised areas in Europe enabling the company to reach two thirds of its European customers within four hours.
